Chaturanga Dandasana is a common pose in flow yoga. It is the transition pose between plank and Cobra or Up Dog.
It is a challenging pose that requires the entire body to participate. It’s not just an arm and shoulder pose. When practiced mindlessly or incorrectly, it can put too much load on the shoulders, putting them in a position for potential strain.
In this workshop Ahna will highlight the different muscles of the body that need to be awakened and engaged for this demanding pose. Fun drills will be utilized to offer new insights and greater full body integration. Tips, ways to safely modify, and variations will be presented and practiced so that you will be able to balance both strength and intentional alignment to take this great pose into your vinyasa classes for years to come.
